Cicero here is so intriguing. I find this peripatos through Sappho, Plato, “Plato” epigrams, Catullus, and, now, Cicero singularly delightful. No wonder why after so many centuries of erudite kissing Ovid’s Sappho became such an expert (before we even reach Longus or Paulus Silentiarius).
